In the opening match of the Tri-nation T20 International cricket series, Nepal emerged triumphant against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with a 7-wicket win.

The contest, hosted at Mulpani Cricket Stadium, saw the UAE setting a total of 140 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs, having been sent to bat first by the home team.

Basil Hameed was the highest contributor with 51 runs for the visitors, while Ali Naseer and Captain Mohammad Waseem added 32 and 17 runs, respectively. Karan KC claimed 3 wickets, Gulsan Jha took 2, and Sompal Kami and Abinash Bohra secured one wicket each for the home team.

In response, Nepal successfully chased the target of 141 runs, losing 3 wickets in 18.5 overs. Captain Rohit Paudel led the charge with the highest contribution of 51 runs, earning him the player of the match award for his half-century.

Other notable scorers included Dipendra Singh Airee with 34, Aasif Sheikh with 23, Kushal Bhurtel with 14, and Kushal Malla with 11 runs. Nilans Keshwani and Ali Naseer took one wicket each for the UAE.

Looking ahead, Nepal is set to face Hong Kong in its second match tomorrow.
