Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer, “Tiger 3,” have taken the box office by storm, setting new benchmarks on its opening day.
Despite the festive occasion of Laxmi Puja, traditionally considered slow for box office earnings due to Diwali celebrations, the action-packed film has raked in an impressive Rs 52.50 crore GBOC across India.
Overseas, “Tiger 3” has garnered a significant Rs 41.50 crore GBOC, contributing to its outstanding worldwide total of Rs 94 crore.
This extraordinary opening day performance has secured “Tiger 3” as the highest-ever Diwali day collections for a Hindi film, surpassing the previous record held by Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” and Ajay Devgn’s “Son Of Sardaar” combined, which collectively earned Rs 22 crore in 2012.
Even though “Tiger 3” falls short of Shah Rukh Khan’s 2023 openers – “Pathaan” (Rs 57 crore) and “Jawan” (Rs 75 crore), the film has made a record-breaking start despite a traditionally slow day, setting the stage for a prosperous run during the extended Diwali holiday.
The trade experts anticipate “Tiger 3” to exceed Rs 120 crore on Monday and Tuesday, with expectations of reaching a three-day total surpassing Rs 165 crore.
This Salman Khan starrer has not only become his biggest opener, outshining “Bharat,” which earned Rs 42.30 crore on Eid, a national holiday, but has also positioned itself for a lucrative run during the festive season.
The third installment in the highly successful “Tiger” franchise, featuring Emran Hashmi as the antagonist, is an integral part of Yash Raj Films’ spy universe, alongside blockbusters like Hrithik Roshan’s “War” and Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming “Pathaan.”
With its record-breaking start, “Tiger 3” promises an exhilarating cinematic experience, captivating audiences during the festive Diwali season.
