In a significant milestone for public health, Tanahun has been declared a full vaccination assured district. This achievement follows the declaration that all ten municipalities in the district are fully vaccinated.

At a program organized by the Health Office on Tuesday, officials announced that all children under 15 months in the district have been vaccinated according to the schedule set by the National Immunization Programme. The Chief of the Health Office, Bidya Tamang, highlighted the efforts to collect data on children who missed their vaccinations and to ensure they received the necessary immunization services.

Shanti Raman Wagle, Chief of the District Coordination Committee and Coordinator of the District Level Vaccination Coordination Committee, emphasized the importance of maintaining the sustainability of the vaccination efforts.

Immunization Officer Shankar Babu Adhikari reported that children from all 85 wards across the district’s 10 municipalities have been guaranteed full vaccination coverage. Additionally, Pramod Soti, Health Section Chief at Byas municipality, noted that 2,818 children aged between 16 months and five years have been brought within the reach of all vaccines, while 1,011 children up to 15 months have also been vaccinated.

This comprehensive vaccination effort underscores the district’s commitment to protecting the health of its youngest residents and ensuring a healthier future for all.
