Switzerland’s ambassador to Nepal Elisabeth von Capeller made a courtesy call on Devendra Paudel, Minister of Education, Science, and Technology, on Tuesday.
According to reports, the discussion focused on Nepal’s education, poverty alleviation, and rural development.
On the occasion, Minister Paudel, through the Ambassador, requested support from the Swiss government for the development, upgrading, and strengthening of Nepal’s technical education. He claimed that Nepal has a plan to expand technical and multi-technical education to 753 local levels around the country.
In response, Ambassador Capeller vowed on behalf of the Swiss Government to continue the country’s assistance to Nepal, emphasizing the necessity for the Ministry to delegate powers to provincial and local levels in order to improve the quality of technical and vocational education.
