Statement recording of 16 accused in fake refugee case begins

Statement recording of 16 accused in the case of fake Bhutanese refugees have started in Kathmandu District Court from today.

According to Deepak Dahal, Information Officer of Kathmandu District Court, the statements of Keshav Dulal and Sagar Rai started in the courtroom of Judge Prem Prasad Neupane of Kathmandu District Court.

A case was filed against 30 people involved in the case, on charges of fraud, embezzlement, among others.

Since 14 people are absconding, only 16 people are going to testify from today.

In the case of 14 people who are at large, the statement will be made when they appear in court.

After the statement, there will be a debate on whether to keep them in jail, ask for bail or release them on a normal date.##
