The Special Court, comprising Chairman Tek Narayan Kunwar, Judges Tej Narayan Singh Rai, and Murari Babu Shrestha, has granted permission for the detention of the suspended Managing Director of Nepal Telecom, Sunil Paudel, and the suspended Executive Director of Security Printing Center, Bikal Paudel, for an additional seven days.

The decision to extend the judicial remand of the Paudel duo was made to facilitate further investigation into their alleged involvement in illegal wealth acquisition.

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had detained them on Wednesday, sparking a detailed probe into the matter.

Following discussions with both parties involved, the Special Court decided to prolong the judicial remand by seven days. This extension is deemed necessary for the ongoing investigation to gather crucial evidence and insights related to the charges against Sunil Paudel and Bikal Paudel.

The case has garnered significant attention, raising questions about corruption and irregularities within key institutions such as Nepal Telecom and the Security Printing Center. As the investigation unfolds, the authorities aim to bring transparency and accountability to the forefront while ensuring a fair and just legal process for all parties involved.
