A senior citizen has been shot to death at Karuniya in Dewahi Gonahi Municipality-1 in Rautahat.
The victim has been identified as Sheikh Taiyab, 70, by the District Police Office in Rautahat.
Taiyab reportedly stayed at home till Wednesday at midnight.
About a kilometer from his home, the police discovered his body.
It was delivered to the Provincial Hospital in Gaur for an autopsy.
The case is being investigated, according to Superintendent of Police Bir Bahadur Budha Magar.
