The Supreme Court will, on Friday, hear the writ suit filed by cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane asking for permission to travel to the United Arab Emirates UAE to play in a cricket competition.
On Thursday, Lamichhane’s attorney Saroj Krishna filed a writ at the Supreme Court contesting the Patan High Court’s decision to prevent him from traveling overseas.
Lamichhane will be able to go with the Nepali cricket team to the United Arab Emirates if the Supreme Court rules in his favor on Friday.
Rohit Kumar Paudel, Kushal Bhurtel, Asif Sheikh, Gyanendra Malla, Sandeep Jora, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Lalit Rajbanshi, Gulshan Jha, Bhim Sarki, Arif Sheikh, Pratish GC, and Shyam Dhakal are the other members of the team.
Lamichhane was granted bail by the High Court of Patan on January 12, but was prohibited from leaving India.
The ruling states that Lamichhane must obtain authorization before leaving the Kathmandu Valley.
The ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 saw a great comeback, with wins in all four games thanks to Lamichhane’s 13 wickets, and the CAN has started the procedure to fly him to the UAE.
