Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan is currently out of danger and recovering after sustaining injuries in an attack at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai. A statement from his team confirmed that Saif underwent surgery and is being closely monitored by doctors at Lilavati Hospital.
The incident occurred at Saif’s apartment in the ‘Satguru Sharan’ building when an intruder confronted his maid. Saif intervened to diffuse the situation, but the confrontation escalated into a physical attack. The actor was rushed to the hospital early Thursday morning, where doctors treated him for six stab wounds, two of which were deep, including one near his spine. A foreign object was also located near his spine during treatment.
“We would like to thank Dr. Niraj Uttamani, Dr. Nitin Dange, Dr. Leena Jain, and the team at Lilavati Hospital for their exceptional care,” Saif’s team expressed in a statement, also extending gratitude to fans and well-wishers for their prayers.
Mumbai Police are actively investigating the incident. DCP Zone 9, Dixit Gedam, assured that a thorough investigation is underway but refrained from disclosing specific details at this time.
IFTDA President Ashoke Pandit condemned the attack, highlighting concerns about the building’s security protocols. “How an intruder reached the 12th floor and entered Saif’s house is alarming and warrants investigation,” he remarked.
Saif Ali Khan is known for his versatile roles in Bollywood and comes from one of India’s most prominent film families. Fans and colleagues alike are relieved by the news of his recovery and are calling for stricter security measures to ensure such incidents are not repeated.
The actor’s family, including his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan, and close friends are by his side as he recuperates.
