Rain and Snowfall Likely from Monday

Nepal is set to experience rain and snowfall starting Monday due to the influence of western low-pressure systems, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

The Division predicts partly to generally cloudy skies this afternoon across most parts of the country, with light rain likely in hilly areas and snowfall expected in the mountainous regions.

Weather Outlook for Monday

Meteorologist Binu Maharjan stated that the eastern regions of Karnali, Lumbini, Gandaki, Bagmati, and Madhes provinces will experience generally cloudy weather, while Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces are expected to be partly cloudy.

Tonight: Light snowfall is expected in high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshiand Gandaki provinces.

Monday: Dense cloud cover is predicted, with chances of light rainfall in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Temperature Updates

Kathmandu’s minimum temperature has risen slightly to 7.2°C on Sunday morning, compared to 5.9°C on Saturday. The rise in temperature is attributed to a cloudy night sky, said Maharjan.

Residents in hilly and mountainous areas are advised to prepare for potential cold weatherand ensure safety in snow-prone regions.
