Rafting activities have commenced in the Kali Gandaki River, which flows through the district headquarters of Myagdi, Beni, aiming to attract domestic tourists attending the 8th Myagdi Festival. The short-distance rafting service was launched on Wednesday, running from Jaleshwar to Dobhan near Khulamanch.

1. Launch Details:
• The rafting service is operated in collaboration with Nepal River Explorer Pvt. Ltd.
• According to Gam Pun, proprietor of Gandaki Hotel near Kalipul, this initiative has been introduced to provide additional recreational opportunities for festival attendees.
2. Service Charges:
• Jaleshwar to Dobhan: NPR 800 per person.
• Bagarphat to Dobhan: NPR 600 per person.
3. Ideal Location:
• The river’s surrounding hilly terrain and scenic riverside settlements make it an excellent spot for rafting, noted rafting guide Santosh Giri.
4. Capacity and Operations:
• Two rafts, each with a capacity of eight passengers, are currently in operation.
• While the focus is on short routes like Galeshwar-Beni, extended rafting trips from Beni to Maldhunga, Nayapul, and Mirmi can be arranged based on demand.
5. Tourism Promotion:
• Myagdi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairperson, Subin Shrestha, emphasized that rafting would enhance tourism promotion in the Beni area.
• Plans are underway to expand rafting services to cover longer routes from Galeshwar to Mirmi, incorporating several picturesque stops.
