The Pokhara submetropolis has decided to develop tourism information about the city in several languages since it is promoting local touristic heritages worldwide. As per the deputy mayor Manju Devi Gurung, budget necessary for the same has been appropriated. ‘’Tourism information regarding Pokhara remaining as a major touristic hub in the country will be accessible in multiple languages for the global dissemination of touristic sites here.’’ It is noted that the Submetropolis has allocated Rs 24.6 million for the advertising and promotion of tourism trade at this juncture. It is preparing to commence the campaign for the construction of tourism-friendly constructions in the days to come. The deputy mayor stated that the budget had been released to build up the town into an ‘agro tourism center’ by promoting natural production. Further, it is also planned to make picnic spot at 14 places and the project will come into effect in association with local forest users’ groups. Likewise, it has set priorities to the safeguarding and promotion of languages including local mother tongues art, literature and culture.
