Pokhara thunders becomes first team to book NSL playoff spot

Pokhara Thunders has become the first team in the ongoing Nepal Super League NSL to confirm playoff berth. 

Pokhara beat FC Butwal Lumbini 1-0 in the second match today to confirm top-four finish in the points table. 

With one match left, Pokhara has accumulated 14 points to stay at the top. 

Momesh Toom’s injury time goal sealed the 1-0 victory for Pokhara and also a spot in the playoffs. 

Earlier in the day, Sporting Ilam ended its first season in Nepal Super League with a 1-0 victory over Lalitpur City FC. 

This was the only second victory for Ilam while Lalitpur that is in contention for the title suffered its first loss in the second season.  

Ilam finished at the fifth place of points table while opening the playoff chances for all remaining 8 clubs. Fode Camara scored the solitary goal for Ilam in the 59th minute of the match.
