Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has assured full government support for the Melamchi Water Supply Project, which is expected to supply 170 million liters of fresh water daily to Kathmandu Valley.
The project was first distributed in April 2021 through an inaugural program.
Dahal reaffirmed his government’s commitment to bring additional water from Yangri and Larki rivulets for the project to deliver in its full capacity.
The government will make necessary arrangements for budget to manage roads swept away by floods in the Melamchi River.
Dahal expressed his commitment to addressing the demands of locals in the Project site and resolving problems related to the project in the absence of the development committee.
The Melamchi Drinking Water Development Committee’s executive director, Kamal Raj Shrestha, briefed PM Dahal about the Project.
The project is enlisted as one of the national pride projects in the country and PM Dahal’s visit aimed to accelerate its effective delivery.
