Every member of the National Cricket Team that recently triumphed in the triangular one-day series under the ICC World Cup League-2 competition would receive an award of Rs. 200,000, according to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, often known as “Prachanda.”

The Prime Minister congratulated the members of the winning team on their historic achievement before inviting them to his official residence in Baluwatar and announcing the reward.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Dahal said, “Congratulations for creating history.
You have made a new record. It is a matter of pride of the country that you secured a clean sweep in the series by winning all four matches.”
Wishing them all the best for the upcoming tournaments, the Prime Minister said, ‘So as to inspire you ahead, I on behalf of the Government of Nepal announce a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh to each of you’.
The Prime Minister declared that it would be a mistake for the nation to see the sports industry with ordinary eyes given the altered significance of sports, which is now a source of national pride, boosts the economy, and wins diplomatic advantage.
“The success that Nepali cricket has achieved in a short span of time is also an inspiration for me in politics.”
The members of the national cricket team expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister for his support during the series and their joy at finding genuine supporters in the Prime Minister.
It should be highlighted that Nepal triumphed in the triangular one-day series against Namibia and Scotland that was played at the TU cricket venue. It won each of the four games to maintain its chance of qualifying for the ICC Men’s One-Day Cricket World Cup 2023, which would be hosted in India.
