Actor Paul Shah, who was jailed in the minor rape case, has been acquitted.
The District Court Tanahun acquitted him.
District Judge Komal Prasad Acharya’s bench held the final hearing on Tuesday and ruled that the allegations leveled against Shah were not sufficient.
Earlier, the minor and complainant who were said to be the victims, had given a statement in the court that the rape allegations were false.
Shah was acquitted after the victim denied the charges in court.
However, even if Tanahun Court has acquitted Actor Shah, the latter will not be released from prison immediately.
Nawalpur District Court has sentenced him to imprisonment for two and a half years.
According to the verdict, Paul has to spend another year and a half in prison.
He is currently in Tanahun jail.
However, if Pal Shah is acquitted by the High Court against the decision of District Court Nawalpur, his jail term may be shortened.
The Nawalpur court had acquitted the rape charge but imposed the punishment for the crime of child sexual abuse.
The aggrieved party is unlikely to go to the High Court. They have already stated that Paul is innocent.
Nevertheless, the Court has said that it will take time to get the full text of the verdict.
