In the first six months of the fiscal year 2023/24, Chitwan National Park has hosted 110,345 visitors. The majority of these visitors are from Nepal, with 53,103 domestic tourists. There were also 10,850 visitors from South Asian countries and 46,392 from other nations. The park has generated a revenue of NPR 13.1 million from these tourists.

Visitors flock to the park to witness rare wildlife such as the one-horned rhinoceros, Bengal tigers, and various aquatic and bird species. Tourists enjoy activities like elephant rides, boat tours, jeep safaris, and walking tours in and around the park.

In a sad update, a female rhinoceros, approximately 30 years old, was found dead near the Dhruv Post area on Thursday. Preliminary investigations suggest it may have died of natural causes. So far this fiscal year, 13 rhinoceroses have been found dead in the park, including five males and five females. One of these deaths was caused by an electric shock, while the rest were due to natural causes.

Chitwan National Park continues to be a major attraction for both local and international tourists, with its diverse wildlife and eco-tourism activities.
