Netra Tamang has been unanimously elected as the President of the Association of Tamang Journalists during its 7th Federal National Convention held in the capital today.
According to the Coordinator of the Election Committee, Pratik Ngensur Tamang, other elected office bearers include Tirthaman Bal as Senior Vice President, Dolma Chiring Tamang, Sahila Tamang, and Shishir Dong as Vice Presidents, Saraswati Tamang as General Secretary, and Adarsh Thokar, GB Lama, and Miksang Waiba as Secretaries. Hiramana Bal has been elected as Treasurer.
Similarly, Amrita Tamang, Anjali Tamang, Pasang Ghising, Sudin Dong, Sangam Lama, and Shyamlal Lama have been elected as open central members. From Bagmati Province, Arjun Tamang, Manakaji Tamang, Santosh Yonjan Tamang, Shanti Thing, Rajkumar Syangbo, Radhika Lo Tamang, and Shyambahadur Tamang have been elected as central members. From Koshi Province, Anup Yonjan and Santoshi Kala Tamang have been elected as central members.
Additionally, Sang Bahadur Lo has been elected as a central member representing Madhesh Province.
The convention was inaugurated today by State Minister for Energy, Purna Bahadur Tamang, who emphasized the need for Tamang journalists to promote their traditions, culture, and attire. He also highlighted the importance of journalists uncovering new facts to produce news content that benefits society.
