Nepal faced a formidable defeat against Hong Kong in their second match of the Women’s four-nation T20 series.

Hong Kong emerged victorious by 9 wickets, sealing their spot in the finals after securing two consecutive wins.

The match, held at the Hong Kong Cricket Club ground, saw Hong Kong effortlessly chasing down Nepal’s target of 57 runs in just nine overs, losing only one wicket in the process.

Natasha Milles was the standout performer, contributing a crucial 30 runs off 23 balls, supported by Shanjin Shehzad with a steady 20 runs.

Mariko Hill added 5 runs to the total.

Nepal’s batting woes continued as they failed to impress after winning the toss and opting to bat first. Raveena Chhetri top-scored with 25 runs in 30 balls, but the rest of the batting lineup struggled to reach double figures. The team was bowled out for a mere 56 runs in 18 overs, with Lakra Sahar from Hong Kong taking three wickets and Ruchitha Venkates claiming two.

With this defeat, Nepal’s hopes of advancing in the tournament were dashed.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong and Tanzania, both securing two consecutive victories, have booked their spots in the tournament finals.

In their previous match, Nepal suffered a setback against Tanzania, losing by 27 runs. The four-nation series, featuring Hong Kong, Nepal, Tanzania, and Japan, will see the top two teams compete for the title. Nepal is set to face Japan on November 2 in a bid to salvage their T20 campaign and potentially secure a place in the finals.
