Nepali Movie ‘Nirphula’ Premieres to Rave Reviews, Captivating Audiences with Heartwarming Tale of Separation and Reunion

Kathmandu, June 8th, 2023 – A captivating tale of love, separation, and resilience unfolded on the silver screen as the Nepali movie ‘Nirphula’ premiered to an enchanted audience at Big Movies, Kathmandu, on the evening of June 8th. The highly anticipated film, written and directed by the Phulman Bal Tamang, General Manager of Nepal Television, left viewers spellbound with its poignant portrayal of a Tamang family’s journey through tragedy and hope.

‘Nirphula’ paints a breathtaking picture of the picturesque high hills of Rubivalley, Dhading, adorned with vibrant green meadows, and offers a glimpse into the daily lives of the Tamang shepherds. The film beautifully captures the essence of the region, showcasing the tranquility of the landscape alongside the ordinary joys and challenges faced by the family.

Led by an exceptional cast, including renowned actors Daya Hang Rai and Buddhi Tamang, ‘Nirphula’ introduced a fresh face in the form of the talented debutant Shanti Waiba and Jigme Chhyoki Ghising. Portraying the role of the mother, Shanti Waiba’s mesmerizing performance captivated audiences with her portrayal of a woman from the high-hilly parts of Nepal, who embarks on a heartfelt quest to find her daughter amidst the aftermath of the devastating 2015 earthquake.

It was also the young prodigy Jigme Chhyoki Ghising, who stole the hearts of viewers with her exceptional portrayal of a child bewildered by the tragic separation from her family. Ghising’s poignant performance left audiences teary-eyed, evoking a deep sense of empathy and showcasing the raw talent of the young artist.

The premiere of ‘Nirphula’ was a grand affair, with fans and industry insiders and media persons gathering in large numbers to witness the unveiling of this cinematic masterpiece. The lead actors of the movie made a striking visual impact, adorned in traditional Tamang dresses that further added to the film’s cultural authenticity.

Speaking about the film, director Phulman Bal Tamang said, “This movie is a tribute to the strength and resilience of the Nepali people. Particularly, I have attempted to portray a beautiful family of Tamang Community. I hope it resonates with viewers and reminds them of the indomitable spirit that resides within us all.” Also, a litterateur, Phulman Bal has showcased his script-writing craft, along with Sachin Ghimire assisting in dialogues. It will be exciting for the viewers to watch the movie from a lens of an exceptional media practitioner, with two decades of experience in entertainment.

‘Nirphula’ attempts to touch the hearts of audiences nationwide as it releases in theaters across Nepal on Jestha 26 (June 9).
