Nepal has seen a significant increase in foreign tourist arrival, with over eight hundred thousand foreign tourists entering the country from January to October 2023.
In October alone, over 117,000 tourists visited Nepal by air.
This has led to a positive impact on the country’s economy, with income increasing by 51% amounting to 17 billion Rs compared to the first three months of the last fiscal year.
Domestic tourists, particularly in trekking destinations and short and medium routes, have also increased.
Nepal Tourism Board said the country’s main season of tourism, October-November, has seen a rapid increase in domestic tourists, including international tourists.The government aims to bring in 1 million tourists by the end of 2023, with 2 hundred thousand tourists expected to enter in the remaining period.
