In a remarkable achievement, a video crafted by Nepal Police has been declared the best in the Interpol 100 Global Video Contest for Young Police Leaders Competition, a prestigious event organized by the International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL).

The announcement came on the first day of the 91st INTERPOL General Assembly held in Vienna, Austria, from November 28.

Outshining entries from 195 member countries, the Nepali submission titled ‘Let’s Save the Planet-Interpol 100’ clinched the top spot in the competition.

The video, spearheaded by Police Inspectors Narayan Thapa and Umesh Gurung Shrestha, garnered praise for its impactful and message-oriented content.

The winning video conveyed a compelling message, emphasizing the pivotal role of Interpol, a key partner of the United Nations, in addressing potential challenges stemming from climate change, natural disasters, artificial intelligence, and achieving sustainable development goals.

During the 91st INTERPOL General Assembly, INTERPOL President Major General Dr. Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi presented a certificate to Nepal Police in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the global video contest.

The accolade reflects not only the creativity and dedication of the Nepali Police force but also highlights Nepal’s prominence on the international stage.

All INTERPOL member countries were encouraged to participate in the video competition, which served as a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the international organization.

The winning video from Nepal stood out for its innovative approach in conveying a powerful message related to global challenges and the crucial role of INTERPOL in addressing them.

A Nepali delegation, led by Inspector General of Nepal Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, is actively participating in the ongoing General Assembly, further reinforcing Nepal’s commitment to international collaboration in law enforcement and global security.
