Nepal Airlines Corporation NAC, the national flag carrier, has reserved slots at Australia’s Sydney airport.
NAC has been given approval and slots at Sydney Airport for two flights each week on Thursday and Saturday.
Following approval for the flights from Sydney Airport, the NAC filed the required paperwork to the Australian Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal CAAN.
Ganesh Kumar Ghimire, the NAC’s assistant spokesperson, announced that for the time being, NAC will fly flights to Sydney with a ‘technical landing’ in Singapore.
The necessary steps to operate the flight starting on June 21 have been forwarded, he said.
The NAC has begun the process of choosing an aviation fuel supplier for Singapore and Sydney as well as an MRO (maintenance, repair, and operation) provider for the airports in both cities. According to the NAC, preparations have been undertaken to operate a wide-body Airbus ‘A’ 330 direct trip from Sydney, Australia.
Similarly, starting on June 12, NAC will run routine flights from Malaysia to Gautam Buddha International Airport.
Only Rs 11,461 is required for the discounted flight from Malaysia to Gautam Buddha International Airport.
Ghimire continued, “We have tickets for Malaysia-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu at a very low price. The cost of the flight from Malaysia to Bhadrahawa to Kathmandu has also been set at Rs 12,346.
