In a somber incident, two family members were discovered deceased in a forest in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Susta-East) on Sunday.
The victims, identified as 60-year-old Manadevi Poudel from Omshanti Tole in Binaya Triveni Rural Municipality-1, and her daughter-in-law Bishnu Poudel, lost their lives during a trip to collect fodder and wood.
According to DSP Bed Bahadur Poudel, the Information Officer at the District Police Office, the tragic incident unfolded as the mother and daughter-in-law did not return home from their visit to the local forest. A search operation involving 60 security personnel was launched by the police, resulting in the discovery of their lifeless bodies at the top of a ridge on Sunday.
DSP Poudel revealed that both Bishnu and Manadevi exhibited injuries on their backs. The circumstances surrounding their deaths are under investigation, shedding light on the unfortunate turn of events during what should have been a routine activity in the forest.
