Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Renu Kumari Yadav, has directed the concerned officials for the execution of the construction of the Nakhhu-Bhainsepati-Bungmati road project by mid-April.
In course of her field inspection of the project today, Minister Yadav said she saw no problems completing the project within the said time. She added that the project update failed to report development in the past five-six years since the widening works were discontinued due to some hurdles.
The project faced hurdles as physical structures could not be displaced from some locations and now there remains no such condition. As the Minister said, she was working to create an environment to escalate the project as soon as she assumed the office.
According to her, there was physical infrastructure like houses and boundary walls along with the project site until some time ago, and now they have been removed and the sewage system has been managed.
She expects the project will be complete in two months as only the works to blacktop the road are remaining.
She took a little time to update about the team from the Ministry monitoring the under-construction road projects for some months, further adding that the concerned Province and local governments were also responsible for the same.
On the occasion, Minister Yadav led a team comprising Ministry Secretary Rabindra Nath Shrestha, Director General of Department of Roads, and Shivahari Sapkota among others.
The five-kilometer road project was initiated some five years ago. The Kathmandu Valley Road Improvement Project has revealed that the project reports 70 percent progress.
