Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Bishnu Prasad Paudel has called for collective initiative to solve the global problems in the economy.
Addressing the session of Finance Ministers under the ‘Voice of South Summit’ through virtual means, he said collective initiative is necessary when there are signs of global economic recession after the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Mentioning that human development and economic growth go hand in hand, Finance Minister Paudel said Nepal is on the way to upgrade from an underdeveloped country by 2026.
Stating that Nepal is willing to benefit from South-South and triangular cooperation to expand the scope of development finance, he thanked the Government of India for its continuous support in economic and social development.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the finance ministers of 15 countries including Nepal, India, Sri Lanka, Colombia are participating in the Summit.
