The Melamchi municipality of Sindhupalchok has come first in local level financial good governance risk assessment.
Melamchi came first in district with 89.5 per cent marks in the preliminary results for the fiscal year 2078/79.
In the assessment, Melamchi secured 92.86 per cent in planning, budget and program management, 97.93 in implementation capacity and management, 100 percent in accounting and reporting, 81.25 in monitoring and evaluation and audit and 85.29 in revenue management.
The evaluation was conducted by the district coordination committee.
Likewise, Chautara Sangachokgadhi Municipality garnered 66 per cent, Bhotekosi Rural Municipality 65, Bahrabise Municipality 64, Tripurasundari Rural Municipality 61.5, Balefi Rural Municipality 60.5, Lisangkhupakhar rural municipality 54.5, Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality 54, Jugal Rural Municipality 50, Sunkoshi rural municipality 42.5 points and Helambu Rural Municipality got 41.5 per cent in the evaluation.
Melamchi was also the first in the financial year 2077-78 by getting 71.5 points.
The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration is to now check its quality and obtain the final results of the municipality, shared Arpana Shrestha, Head of Information Technology Branch of Melamchi municipality.
Chief Administrative Officer Amrit Kumar Dhital said that the goal is to achieve more than 90 percent marks in both evaluations in the upcoming year.
Following the evaluation of the municipality,
Mayor, Aitaman Tamang, and deputy Mayor, Uma Pradhan, said they will work to be the first at the local level in the coming years too.
