Nepal Medicity Hospital and Yeti Airlines or Tara Air have signed a bilateral agreement for cooperation in rescuing patients by aircraft on Tuesday.

The agreement has come into implementation with the General Manager of the Hospital Vijay Rimal and the Administration Chief of the Airline Anjan Budgami signing the agreement paper.

As of today, patients are being airlifted via helicopter and chartered flights in the country, whereas now Yeti Airlines or Tara Air will provide regular air ambulance services. This arrangement will also make it easier for patients to fly at night.

Saying Nepal Medicity Hospital has been providing quality emergency and rescue services to the patients through air and ground ambulances, Hospital GM Rimal expressed hope that this service will further expand collaboration with Yeti Air. According to Rimal, the Hospital will provide training on pre-hospital care and emergency rescue to cabin crews and ground handling staff at various locations.

According to Sudarshan Bartaula, Spokesperson of Yeti Airlines, special services will be made available any time, in collaboration with Nepal Medicity Hospital, by converting the aircraft into an air ambulance as and when required for emergency and further treatment through airlift.

Spokesperson Bartaula added that they can transfer more than one patient and the caretaker for treatment as per the requirement. He said, this type of service will make it easier for people in remote areas to get timely treatment during the dire situation of the pandemic.

The agreement could play a significant role in the Hospital’s goal of providing high-quality services to people across the country. This service of Yeti Airlines will create an opportunity to provide easy and convenient service even for remote rescue.
