Lalita Niwas Case: Arrested to be remanded for two more days

Court has issued an order to remand the two persons recently arrested in the Lalita Niwas land grab scam case along with Secretary at Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Krishna Bahadur Raut, for two more days.

Along with Secretary Raut, the Court has ordered to keep then chief of Samarjung Company Lok Hari Ghimire and Land Revenue Officer Dhruva Aryal in the custody for two more days so as to take ahead the investigation.

Spokesperson at the Central Investigation Bureau CIB of Nepal Police, SSP Dinesh Acharya, informed that now the investigation will pace up.

The CIB had arrested Secretary Raut yesterday on July 9 on charge of making fake documents for buying and selling land of Lalita Niwas property.

Raut was arrested from Tribhuwan Airport while he was set to fly Biratnagar from Kathmandu, informed Additional Inspector General AIG of CIB, Nepal Police Kiran Bajracharya.

Raut, while working as a section officer at Physical Planning and Construction Ministry in 2063 BS had issued a memo of the proposal to prepare masterplan relating to residence expansion of notable people. In the same case, Ghimire and Aryal have been arrested in accusation of not taking initiative to protect government land.
