Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has begun the process of awarding scholarships to pupils attending the city’s institutional schools.
According to KMC Mayor Balen Shah, the institutional schools were obliged to initiate the scholarship application procedure, hence the KMC itself started it.
The KMC Education Department has published a notification for Grade 11 pupils inviting applications for scholarships.
Up until July 28th, applicants can register online. Before the students may be chosen for the scholarship, they must take a test.
According to the Education Act, 2028 BS, institutional schools are required to offer free scholarships to impoverished, disabled, female, Dalit, or indigenous pupils. A minimum of 10% of the total number of students enrolled in the relevant school shall get a scholarship.
