KMC instructs to reserve 10% beds in all hospitals for destitute patients

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has directed all hospitals and health institutions to allocate ten percent of the total number of beds for free treatment for poor, helpless and homeless patients who come for treatment.
The health department under the Metropolis has issued a notification and has given this instruction to the centers, provincial and local health institutions of all nature within the metropolitan area.

In addition, it is also said to provide the minimum wage for health workers and other employees working in health institutions, maintain food quality in canteens inside the hospital, manage medical waste, and not recommend unnecessary laboratory tests.
