KATHMANDU – In a remarkable transformation, Kathmandu Metropolitan City has shed its previous reputation as an unorganized and garbage-filled city and is now emerging as a green and blooming metropolis. The efforts of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City to beautify various parts of the city are being widely appreciated, and the locals are rejoicing at the positive changes taking place.

Thanks to the establishment of the Park and Greenery Promotion Project by the Municipal Corporation last year, the metropolis has been undergoing a significant makeover. Over the past three months, the project has been fast-tracking the planting of flowers and plants throughout the city, resulting in a breathtaking sight of blooming flora adorning the roadsides, gardens, and open spaces.

With an aim to maximize the greening campaign, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City has even placed flower pots in areas with limited vacant land, effectively utilizing every available space. This initiative is being closely supervised by a dedicated team of 50 people, including the metropolitan police, to ensure its success.

Recently, the project has successfully completed planting trees and fruits in various areas such as Koteshwar, Vijuli Bazar, Bagh Bazar, Khula Manch, Ranipokhari, Kalanki, and Putli Road. The project leader, Navraj Thapa, expressed his satisfaction with the progress, stating that flowers and plants have been abundantly planted along roadsides and riverbanks.

The enthusiasm and joy among the locals are palpable, as they witness their city transform into a haven of greenery. The changing landscape has inspired the residents to engage in acts of kindness and contribute positively to their surroundings.

Over the past three months alone, the Kathmandu Metropolitan City has successfully planted 30,000 saplings. Their ambitious goal is to plant a total of 1 lakh saplings by the month of Bhadra. These saplings, carefully selected from the National Botanical Garden at Godavari, have found a new home in the metropolis, adding to the diversity and beauty of the urban environment.

The Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s dedication to creating a greener and more aesthetically pleasing cityscape has earned widespread praise. The metropolis is quickly shedding its old image and is now seen as a bride beautifully adorned with the vibrant colors of nature.

As the city continues its journey towards becoming a green and blooming metropolis, the locals eagerly anticipate the future developments that will further enhance their quality of life and make Kathmandu an even more attractive destination for residents and visitors alike.
