Province Parliamentary Party leader of CPN Maoist Center Bagmati Province Salikram Jammakattel has been appointed as the Chief Minister of the Province.
Provincial Chief Minister Yadav Chandra Sharma appointed Jamkattel as the Chief Minister as per the Article 168 of the Constitution.
With the support of the constituent parties of the ruling coalition, CPN-UML, CPN-Maoist Center, Rashtriya Prajatantra Party RPP, CPN Unified Socialist and Hamro Nepali Party, Jammakattel submitted his claim for the Chief-Ministerial position.
A total of 70 MPs had backed Jammakattel for the positoon.
Support of at least 56 MPs is required to be appointed as Chief Minister in the 110-member Bagmati province.
He has the support of 27 MPs from UML, 21 from Maoist, 13 from RPP, 7 from Samajwadi and 2 from HamroNepali Party.##
