In the past 24 hours, Israel’s military has intensified its air campaign in Gaza, targeting what it claims to be “Hamas infrastructure.” The strikes focused on anti-tank missile launch sites, tunnels, and headquarters. Despite international concerns, the military actions persist, keeping Gaza under siege, with Israel restricting cross-border supplies of water, electricity, and fuel.

Amidst the military escalation, there are signs of diplomatic efforts. The US and Egypt have announced that aid lorries are set to begin crossing into Gaza from Egypt on Friday, providing much-needed relief to the affected population.

On a diplomatic front, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s visit to Israel coincides with the recent visit by US President Joe Biden. However, Biden’s trip was overshadowed by a tragic incident in Gaza. A blast at a Gaza hospital reportedly claimed the lives of 471 people, according to local officials. While local authorities attribute the incident to an Israeli air strike, Israel maintains that the blast resulted from a misfired rocket launched from Gaza.

The situation remains tense, with military actions, humanitarian concerns, and diplomatic engagements shaping the complex landscape in the region.
