India sees 43,509 new COVID-19 cases, recovery rate rises to 97.38 pc

India saw 43,509 new COVID-19 infections, 38,465 recoveries in the last 24 hours, as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Thursday. With this, the total recoveries stand at 3,07,01,612, and the recovery rate now reached 97.38 per cent. The country’s active cases moved up to 4,03,840 which comprises 1.28 per cent of the total cases. The Union Ministry also said that the weekly positivity rate in the nation remained less than 5 percent and is currently standing at 2.38 percent. In addition, the daily positivity rate is at 2.52 percent. To continue fighting against the Covid-19, India amped up its COVID-19 testing capacity to 46 crores (46,26,29,773) tests as of date. About the vaccine, noculation, cumulatively, 45,07,06,257 vaccine doses were given through 54,11,501 segments, the provisional report till 8 am showed. The ministry’s release further added 43,92,697 vaccine doses that were given yesterday. 50,000 or fewer daily fresh cases have been reported for the past 32 consecutive days. The Ministry has attributed this improvement to the sustained and collaborative efforts by the Centre and the States/UTs.
