The government is going to scrap 20-year-old vehicles.
Bagmati Province’s Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Transport has issued a notification and directed that 20-year-old automobiles be registered.
According to the Ministry, the date of registration of the vehicle must be registered within 35 days for all public vehicles that exceed 30 years in the case of electric cars and 20 years for all other vehicles.
The Ministry has also advised the submission of the revenue, yet to be submitted for the registration of the old automobiles.
According to data, there are about 700 vehicles functioning in Kathmandu Valley, including Gas Tuktuks, Blue Micros, and vehicles that are more than 20 years old.
The government has begun the process of replacing those outdated vehicles and assigning e-taxi numbers.
