Plastic bags and items smaller than 40 microns are prohibited by the government.

This prohibition was issued today in a statement from the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.

In a statement, ministry secretary Dr. Krishna Hari Pushkar encouraged consumers to use polythene bags with a minimum thickness of 40 microns rather than plastic bags and other products.

He requested assistance from the federal, provincial, and local governments for this initiative.

12 percent of the rubbish generated by residences in 2022, according to the Waste Management Baseline Survey, contained plastic products.

Similar to how plastic products made up 21% of the garbage produced by institutions, they also made up 22% of the waste produced by institutions.
