Exchange Rate Update: USD Stable, Euro and Pound Sterling Rise

Kathmandu, December 31: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has announced the foreign exchange rates for today, showing stability in the value of the US Dollar while other currencies, including the Euro and Pound Sterling, have seen increases.

As per NRB, the buying rate for 1 USD is set at NPR 136.56, while the selling rate is NPR 137.16. The Euro’s buying rate stands at NPR 142.67, with a selling rate of NPR 143.30. Similarly, the buying and selling rates for the Pound Sterling are NPR 172.09 and NPR 172.84, respectively.

Other significant rates include:

Swiss Franc: Buying NPR 151.46, Selling NPR 152.12

Australian Dollar: Buying NPR 85.23, Selling NPR 85.61

Canadian Dollar: Buying NPR 94.99, Selling NPR 95.41

Singapore Dollar: Buying NPR 100.72, Selling NPR 101.17

Japanese Yen (10): Buying NPR 8.66, Selling NPR 8.70

Chinese Yuan: Buying NPR 18.71, Selling NPR 18.79

Currencies such as the Saudi Arabian Riyal (Buying NPR 36.37, Selling NPR 36.53), Qatari Riyal (Buying NPR 37.46, Selling NPR 37.62), and Thai Baht (Buying NPR 4.01, Selling NPR 4.03) have also been updated.

The value of the Kuwaiti Dinar has risen, with a buying rate of NPR 443.30 and a selling rate of NPR 445.25, while the Bahraini Dinar has decreased, standing at NPR 361.99 for buying and NPR 363.58 for selling.

The exchange rate for Indian Rupee 100 remains at NPR 160 for buying and NPR 160.15 for selling.

Nepal Rastra Bank clarified that these rates may be revised anytime as needed, and commercial banks might offer slightly different rates. Updated rates are available on the central bank’s website.
