Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, presently on an official visit to China, has been admitted to Peking Union Medical College in Beijing.
The hospitalization is a result of chest complications, and his private secretary, Suresh Kaji Shrestha, has confirmed the admission. Sources indicate that the Deputy Prime Minister suffered a mild heart attack, leading to a stent placement procedure.
The Minister’s secretariat reports that he is now stable and out of a life-threatening situation while undergoing intensive care unit (ICU) treatment.
Shrestha’s visit to China, extended on the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, faces an unexpected interruption due to his health condition.
