Chief Minister Kedar Karki has successfully secured a vote of confidence from the Koshi Provincial Assembly with more than two-thirds majority. A total of 86 votes were cast in favor of Chief Minister Karki’s proposal, while five votes were against it from RPP members.
The Chief Minister initiated the confidence vote in accordance with Article 168(4) of the Constitution of Nepal and Rule 128(4) of Koshi Province Assembly Rules, 2074. During the discussions, leaders from various political parties expressed their stance. Notably, UML parliamentary party leader Hikmat Kumar Karki emphasized unity and consensus, pledging support for political stability.
Following the successful vote, Chief Minister Karki addressed the media, expressing his commitment to forming a consensus government in Koshi Province. He assured that the government would not increase the number of ministries and highlighted the importance of cooperation to address challenges.
The Chief Minister shared his optimism about the government taking shape before Tihar and playing a significant role in building trust among political parties. The Provincial Assembly has adjourned its meeting until further notice, setting the stage for a collaborative and stable governance in Koshi Province.
