CAAN allocates Rs. 4.56 billion for land acquisition for various airports

KATHMANDU, Aug 10: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has allocated Rs 4.56 billion for land acquisition. CAAN has allocated the budget for international and domestic airports for the current fiscal year.Of the allocated budget, Rs 2.16 billion has been appropriated for the land acquisition of Gautam Buddha International Airport. “The budget has been allocated as per the CAAN’s master plan,” said CAAN Spokesperson Raj Kumar Chhetri. Similarly, CAAN has also separated Rs 200 million for Nijgadh Airport, Rs 780 million for Pokhara International Airport and Rs 800 million for Tribhuvan International Airport.

CAAN has allocated Rs 610 million for the acquisition of land required for the expansion and standardization of Taplejung, Chandragadhi, Biratnagar, Ramechhap, Surkhet, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, Jumla, Rajbiraj and Doti airports. Also, 5 million has been allocated for land acquisition for new airport in Narayanpur, Dang.
