Birgunj United emerged triumphant in today’s Nepal Super League (NSL) football tournament match against Kathmandu Rayzrs, winning 4-1 at Dasharath Stadium, Tripureswar.

Despite an initial lead by Kathmandu with Nkengue Juniour’s goal in the 21st minute, Birgunj staged a comeback in the first half with William Opoku converting a penalty in extra time.

The second half saw Birgunj extend their lead with Sunil Khadka scoring in the first minute. Opoku then completed a remarkable hat-trick, finding the net in the 56th and 57th minutes. The final score stood at 4-1 in favor of Birgunj.

Following this victory, Birgunj has accumulated eight points in seven games, securing the sixth position in the points table. Kathmandu, despite the loss, maintains its fifth position with nine points from seven games.

The match showcased spirited performances from both teams, with Birgunj’s Opoku and Khadka and Kathmandu’s Juniour contributing significantly to the exciting contest in the NSL football tournament.
