In a display of formidable performance, both the Armed Police Force (APF) and Koshi Province clinched their third consecutive victories in the ongoing PM Cup National Women’s Cricket Tournament.
APF secured a convincing win against Lumbini Province, triumphing by 90 runs. Indu Verma emerged as a standout player, scoring an unbeaten 70 runs. Lumbini’s bowlers, Saraswati Pun and Sarmila Roka, managed to take one wicket each, but it wasn’t enough to halt APF’s dominance. Despite the early dismissal of APF’s captain Sita Rana Magar for nine runs, the team emerged victorious, solidifying their position at the top of the points table.
Meanwhile, Koshi Province exhibited their cricket prowess by defeating Madhesh Province with a 60-run margin. Apsari Begum’s contribution of 39 runs played a crucial role in Koshi’s success. Despite Madhesh’s efforts, which saw them losing nine wickets while chasing a target of 130 runs, Koshi secured their third consecutive win, earning six additional points.
With equal points as APF, Koshi Province currently holds the second position in the league standings, determined by the net run rate. The ongoing streak of victories by both APF and Koshi Province adds excitement and competitiveness to the PM Cup National Women’s Cricket Tournament as teams vie for the top spot in this prestigious competition.
