The Department of Foreign Employment has finalized the names of 71 skilled nurses who are set to embark on employment opportunities in the United Kingdom.

This significant development follows the bilateral agreement between the Governments of Nepal and the UK to facilitate the employment of Nepali nurses in the UK health sector.

The selection process, outlined in a notification issued last July, involved the careful screening of 771 applicants who applied through the department’s online portal. The chosen candidates, who met the specified criteria, will undergo interviews on December 4th to further assess their suitability for employment in the UK.

As per the agreement, candidates were required to possess a minimum of two years of work experience, fluency in English, and a nursing qualification of at least three years, including either PCL nursing or BN.

This initiative represents a mutually beneficial collaboration between the two nations, addressing the demand for skilled healthcare professionals in the UK while providing employment opportunities for qualified Nepali nurses.

The successful candidates, once approved through the interview process, are expected to contribute their expertise to the UK health sector, further strengthening the ties between Nepal and the United Kingdom in the field of healthcare.
