7.2 m earthquake jolts Tajikistan

A 7.2 magnitude earthquake shook Tajikistan on Thursday at a depth of 10 kilometers, informed China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

According to Reuters, a 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck this morning at 5:37 local time. 

Due to their shared border, China also experienced the shock of the earthquake. 

The earthquake’s epicenter was in Kashgar and Artux in the western portion of Xinjiang region, around 82 kilometers from the closest Chinese border. 

According to CCTV, there are 4,655 meters of average elevation within five kilometers of the epicenter (15,300 ft). 

As of now, there have been no reports of injuries or property damage.
