Mount Everest, also known as Sagarmatha, is the tallest mountain in the world and has been successfully ascended by about 500 people. 

According to the Department of Tourism, 500 mountaineers and guides have climbed Mt. Sagarmatha this spring. 

Approximately 500 people have scaled Mount Everest to this point. 

478 mountaineers in total have been granted expedition permits to ascend Mount Everest in the spring. 
The Director General of the Department, Hom Prasad Luintel, and the Sherpa guides from various expedition teams are also included in the 500. 

It is encouraging to see people climbing several mountains, especially Sagarmath, while the weather has stayed favorable. 

The spring climbing season for this year began on May 13. 

The number of permits authorized to climb Mount Everest in the spring was 478, which is the most ever. 

The agency continues, “This includes 103 women and 376 men from 47 mountaineering teams.”
